Announcing the 911 Panic Button app

We're almost ready to roll our newest product - the awesome "911 Panic Button" app.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...there's ten million panic button apps. The major advantage to our app is that our specs conform to The National Emergency Number Association - the governing body for the Untied State's 911 network. None of the others can claim that status.  Besides, the truth is that all of them go off with a single touch.  This is a big problem for 911 operators.   Masses of unintended calls unnecessarily tie up emergency responders.  Operators are required by law to act upon each call.  If the call was unintended, an operator just lost precious moments when he/she could have been better utilized communicating with someone in a real emergency situation.

What's the answer?

Our 911 Panic Button has two built-in safeguards against unnecessary 911 calls.
  1. When the app icon is activated a screen comes up that required another step to activate the app.  This step eliminates accidental dialing while putting a users smartphone in an armband holder - which we highly recommend - which will eliminate unintended calls because the user put it in their pants pocket for example.
  2. The second safeguard is the need for the user to apply pressure to the screen for a full two seconds before the call is initiated.
Another distinct advantage over our competitors is that is does go directly to a 911 operator.  Many other emergency apps are directed to the users chosen contact(s).  Consequently, if a contact is unavailable to make a call on behalf of the user, waiting for help could become prolonged and an already dire situation could get worse very quickly while waiting for a contact person to respond.

The final advantage - and arguably one of the best safety features - is that the app allows a hands free, open line of communication between the user and the 911 operator.  Once activated the 911 Panic Button automatically reverts to speaker mode
